Description

The Program delivers a coordinated interdisciplinary study of Argentina and the region for University level students who have limited knowledge of Spanish (2-3 college-level courses in Spanish).

It is made up of two parts:

Part I:  Introductory Spanish Course [download syllabus]: A mandatory 3 weeks brush-up course of 4 hours clases per day. It is designed to improve language skills through lectures and linguistic activities.

Part II: A full time interdisciplinary semester that includes:

a. Grammar and Contemporary Latin American Literature and Culture (mandatory course of 4 hours p/wk)

b. 3 Elective courses [download] (3hours p/wk each) from the following offer:

  • Contemporary Argentine Art 
  • Contemporary Latin-American Politics
  • Popular Sectors in Contemporary Argentine History
  • Contemporary Argentine Theater Workshop
  • Social Inclusion in the Contemporary Local Situation
  • Cinematographic Theory 
  • Sustainable Development in Latin America and the World. Different Perspectives

IMPORTANT: A minimum of students is required

Calendar

Semester 1: Mid-February to 1st. week of July
Semester 2: Mid-July to mid-November
